We are committed to ensuring privacy of the personal information that all the users of this site submit
This privacy policy governs your use of the site and the tools integrated in it. By using this website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
As a general policy, we use personal information and message data for internal purposes only. We do not sell or rent information about you. We will not disclose personal information or message data to third parties without your consent, except as explained in this Privacy Policy.
The site is for use by adults capable of taking personal and legal responsibility of their actions and thus are 18 years of age and above.
The site offers users a platform to view different work that TI-Kenya is doing to make sure that there is integrity and accountability in our focus areas. The site also provides users with a platform for ANONYMOUSLY reporting corruption and misuse of public resources.
Users are however encouraged not to post anything that will be against this cause including: any information which may effectively expose their identities when wishing to stay anonymous, anything obscene, defamatory, illegal, inciting, profane or abusive. Users will be responsible for the legality of what they post on the site. Users may post reports, perform searches and queries, share, and transmit information and use the interactive features.
Personal Data
No personal data will be collected and/or stored without prior consent of the user.
Reporting functionality
The only instance where a user will be required to VOLUNTARILY share generalised personal information is when making reports through the platform provided on the site. The information required when making reports through the site includes:
- the user’s age group.
- gender; and
- Residential location.
- Name
- Email address.
This information will only be used internally as analytics for generating general reports on the different categories of issues making use of the site and informing decisions for improved user experience and not in any other way.
The reporting functionality is set to allow a user to anonymously make a report through the site.
All information submitted by a user in the description section of making a report is at the user’s discretion and implies express consent to share the information for use by the Transparency International Kenya’s team. It is advised that users should therefore refrain from writing any information that would expose their identity on any of the descriptive sections when making a report. In cases where users will submit their personal information, the information will ONLY be used for following up or seek clarification on the matter reported and not for any other purpose.
Tracking codes are issued to the user after reporting a case which will be used to track the status of the progress of the case. Tracking codes are unique identifiers and are unique for every case.
All care has been taken to secure this information for retention only on the site and the Transparency International Kenya team.
User location
The platform does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.
User location is an optional requirement feature for one to enjoy the full functionality of the platform and this is entirely voluntary.
Data Retention Policy
We will retain reports made by users for as long as you use the platform and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you would like us to delete reports that you have provided via any of our platforms, please contact us at info@uwajibikajipamoja.org and we will act on your request within a reasonable time.
The above channels are used to contact you with notifications and other information that is specific to your device and/or your case.
Compliance with laws
The organization cooperates with government and law enforcement officials to enforce and comply with the law. We may therefore disclose personal information, usage data, message data, and any other information about you, if we deem that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process (such as a subpoena or court order), or enforceable governmental request; (b) enforce the Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations thereof; (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of the organization, its users or the public, as required or permitted by law.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of October 1, 2020 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this platform.
